Fashion meets function in this very special creation developed in collaboration with Esceetu Studios in Santa Fe. A vintage patchwork quilt (circa early 1900s) and deadstock gray flannel were the foundation for this collectible style. The quilt was created from castoff salesman's suit samples; when companies retired outdated swatches, it was common practice to sell them off to quilters). The shape is a sack coat which originated in France as the sacque coat during the 1840s and took its name from the way it was cut (contrary to popular belief, the sack coat did NOT get its name from its loose fit “like a sack”. Today we know this as a blazer with a straight non-vented back.
A traditional fit with vintage woven leather buttons and signature flip cuffs. Patch front pockets. Lined in a vintage textile with bound seams.
