Inspired by the Native American necklaces crafted by the Navajo and Zuni tribes, Dixon Rand presents an approachable leather and wood version. Natural wood beads alternate with leather 'squash blossoms' finished with a leather naja. Each one is hand crafted and unique.
The exact origins of these collectible piece has been debated, but the name of the necklace grew out of the one type of bead that was developed by and credited to the Navajo, and whose name in the Navajo language translates to “bead which spreads out,” While the entire necklace has taken its name from one type of bead, the classic squash blossom necklace actually has three distinct parts: the plain round beads; the beads with the “petals", and the horseshoe-like pendant at the bottom called the Naja.
Our Squash Blossom Necklace comes packaged in a Dixon Rand gift box; the top features unique artwork developed for us by the Range Tailor.
