The 2nd release in our 2020 Forest animal series. Inspired by the bear depicted on the California State Flag, The California Grizzly is one of the state's most visible and enduring symbols. Adorning both the state flag and seal, the bear flag first flew in 1846 as a symbol of the short-lived California Republic. Symbolizing great strength, the now extinct subspecies of the Grizzly clan has not been seen in California for over 100 years.
